CHARIS INTERNATIONAL HAS NEW MODERATOR
CHARIS International now has a new moderator.
Pino Scafuro
The new Moderator is Brother Pino Scafuro from Argentina.
Was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1965. He is married with Carina, has 2 children, Dante and Caterina. He graduated in Psychology, with a specialization in Pastoral Counseling, Transactional Analysis and Logotherapy. He is an industrial entrepreneur.
1984: First contacts with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and in 1985 he receives the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
1988: Member of the Charismatic Covenant Community “Convivencia con Dios”
1996 – 2002: Diocesan Coordinator of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of San Martín.
2003: Founding Member of CRECES (Renewed Communion of Evangelicals and Catholics in the Holy Spirit).
2003 – 2009: Regional Coordinator of the CCR of Buenos Aires
2006 – 2010: Coordinator of the Complementary Formation Program of Buenos Aires
2007 – 2013: Member of the Executive Council of the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships
2011 – 2016: Archdiocesan Coordinator of the Charismatic Renewal of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires
2012 – 2018: Regional Coordinator of the Charismatic Renewal of the Buenos Aires Region
2012 – 2021: Member of the Department of Laity, Family and Life of the Bishops’ Conference of Argentina.
2013 – 2018: Vice-President of the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships
2015: Member of the Executive Board of DIALOGO CIUDADANO- Relations between civil, political and trade associations.
2015 – 2021: Responsible for the Bureau of Movements, Associations and New Communities of the Bishops’ Conference of Argentina.
2017: Appointed by the Holy Father Francis, together with Michelle Moran, Julia Torres and Oreste Pesare, to constitute a new unique service for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, later called CHARIS.
2020: Member of the Commission of Politics and Interreligious Dialogue – Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Argentina.
2020: Active Member of ALPHA
2019 – 2021: Member of the International Service of Communion of CHARIS
The National Chairman of CCRN Bro. Uche Manu KSJI also attended the meeting in Rome where the Moderator emerged.
